Job description

OverviewThe College seeks to build a pool of qualified applicants to teach DGMD 101 Digital Media.DGMD 101 provides students with a foundational understanding of digital media production. This course offers students an exploration of digital tools, techniques, and storytelling in the multi-formatted, modern media landscape.  Students will learn the basics in an array of digital media practices, gain a theoretical and conceptual understanding of digital media and be exposed to subjects like user experience (UX) and design thinking. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in digital media, effective communication skills, commitment to student success and the ability to foster an inclusive and interactive learning environment. Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures that introduce students to the basics of digital media production, including digital images, audio, video, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Facilitate discussions to aide in understanding of course concepts and analysis of communication processes.
  • Assign and grade writing assignments, projects, and exams to assess student understanding.   
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback and support to help students succeed academically.    
  • Cultivate an inclusive classroom environment that values diverse perspectives and promotes respectful dialogue.
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Master's degree in Digital Media, Communications, Media Studies, Media Arts or a related field. 
  • Prior teaching experience, especially at the college level, is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations:

  • Strong need for daytime classes, limited evening sessions available.
  • Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend courses may be available in Lincroft or Higher Education Centers across Monmouth County.
  • Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
