Job Summary
Milwaukee Public Schools is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for PAIRED Art teaching positions.
Paired positions: Teachers may spend mornings in one school and afternoons in another or two days a week at one school and three at the other. Exact configuration to be determined based on pairing and positions available at time of hire/offer.
A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) art teacher provides an arts program based on the National Core Arts Standards for regular and special education students. The art teacher provides creative opportunities for all students in a variety of mediums. The MPS art teacher works collaboratively with school staff in order to integrate core curricular areas into the arts experience. In addition, they work with various community arts partners in order to provide additional high-quality arts programming for students.
A MPS teacher provides an instructional program for students which is appropriate to their educational needs and developmental level. The educational program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The teacher supports the MPS strategic plan.

Qualifications
Eligible EXTERNAL applicants MUST:

• Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Hold a content area teacher license
  • If you are not a licensed teacher, you must be willing to enroll in a licensing program within one semester of hire. Unlicensed applicants may reach out to an MPSU Talent Development Specialist to learn how to find a licensure program at mpsu@milwaukeepublicschools.org.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a broad knowledge of all facets related to the teaching assignment as related to the subject and grade level of the students.
• Uses research-proven practices to improve student achievement.
• Implements Board policies as necessary to improve the educational environment.
• Plans and organizes material for instruction and presents and reinforces lessons as appropriate.
• Addresses different learning modalities, including auditory, visual and kinesthetic.
• Uses appropriate classroom management strategies and relates well to the student population.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The Teacher salary range starts at $54,386.11 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully licensed K-12 teaching experience.
