Job description

From greeting our guests at our exhibits to operating our thrilling rides and ensuring safety procedures are followed, the FUN never stops for our part-time variable hourly (20-29 hours per week) Rides Operators in our Guest Experience department. Flexible scheduling with evening, weekend, and seasonal shift opportunities, including supporting two of the Zoo's signature events, ZooBoo and Christmas at the Zoo. Ideal candidates are committed to advancing the Zoo's mission to protect nature and inspire people to care for our world. Though this position is not responsible for animal care, our Attractions team is vital to the Zoo's operations. By providing above and beyond customer service and ensuring a family-friendly, safe environment, our Attractions department is integral to our operations. A cooperative and team-oriented personality, along with a friendly and courteous attitude is highly desirable. Though this is an entry level position, any experience working in customer service a plus! Pay rate for this exciting position is $13.00/ hr.Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Indiana driver's license with a record insurable through the Zoo's insurance.Primary responsibility is to operate/ monitor mechanical rides and attractions (train ride & carousel).Ensures safety procedures are being followed at all attractions and rides by both staff and guests. Provides friendly, professional service to Zoo guests and fellow staff members; guides, directs, and engages guests with a detailed and pleasant manner.
