Job description

THE POSITION The Enterprise Technology Services Office is searching for a Database Analyst who is looking for a chance to work with important systems that support statewide services. In this role, you will work with experienced professionals to manage and improve database environments that function around the clock. You will help ensure that data remains secure, stable, and accessible.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supports database environments that operate every day of the year and play a major role in providing statewide services. Your work focuses on maintaining secure, accurate, and efficient systems that support the business needs of the Department.

As a Database Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Database Support: Complete assigned projects and assist with maintaining stable and secure database environments System Tools: Create and use scripts and tools that improve database performance and operations across platforms Issue Response: Address system problems and assist with emergency support when needed Data Integrity: Monitor logs, review errors, and support processes that protect data accuracy and structure Modeling Assistance: Review data models and diagrams to support clear standards, storage needs and design changes Performance Monitoring: Track system performance and usage to prevent problems and support reliable service Interested in learning more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Information Technology Generalist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of information technology experience that includes one year in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration or in the analysis and design in overall support of data administration; or Two years of information technology experience that includes one year in the analysis, design, and maintenance of databases in overall support of database administration or in the analysis and design in overall support of data administration, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or A bachelor's degree in any information technology field.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree. Other Requirements: This particular position also requires requires one or more years of full-time professional experience with Linux operating systems, Oracle database administration, and ERwin Data Modeler software. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
