Job description

Nexus is seeking an early-career Project Analyst to join our Project Services team. In this role, you will support project teams by turning cost, schedule, and risk information into accurate, useful reporting and analysis. You will work closely with Project Controls and cross-functional project teams to identify trends and variances, improve data quality, and provide the information leaders need to make informed project decisions.

What You'll Do
  • Track project commitments, actuals, forecasts, accruals, changes, budgets, and other Project Controls information.
  • Monitor project performance and help identify variances, trends, risks, and potential corrective actions.
  • Validate project data and work with Project Controls, Finance, Procurement, Estimating, and project teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support project risk identification and monitoring, including maintaining risk registers and documenting risks, opportunities, owners, and response actions.
  • Prepare project reports, dashboards, KPIs, and trend analysis that provide clear visibility into project performance.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools, reports, databases, and dashboards that improve reporting and decision support.
  • Use tools such as Excel, Power BI, Power Query, R, Python, VBA, automation, or AI, as appropriate, to improve analysis, reporting, and data quality.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience; internship or co-op experience may qualify.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across project teams.
  • Commitment to data quality, safety, and applicable client requirements.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or work experience in data analysis, application development, auditing, cost control, Project Controls, or project management.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, R, Python, VBA, or similar analytical or automation tools.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and multidisciplinary capital projects.

The posted salary range represents the anticipated base pay for this position in accordance with applicable pay-transparency requirements and may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, work location, and market conditions.
