The Procurement Buyer owns the end-to-end procurement workflow — from reviewing purchase order requirements to vendor selection and analysis, contract negotiation, invoice review, vendor management, and ensuring on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate excels in planning, organization, and negotiation, and is always looking for ways to improve procurement processes and bring innovation to the role.

What you'll be doing

  • Assess internal clients' needs to define purchase requirements
  • Proactively identify, negotiate, and execute cost-saving (savings) initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier optimization, and contract negotiations
  • Analyze supplier proposals to identify the best cost-benefit for the company
  • Negotiate pricing with vendors to secure the best terms for products and services
  • Research market trends to determine optimal purchase timing for specific items
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure purchases meet company needs
  • Monitor inventory levels and order additional stock as needed
  • Review supplier bids to confirm compliance with company standards
  • Review vendor proposals and select contract recipients
  • Manage and maintain the purchasing data system
  • Partner with Finance to forecast quarterly purchases and secure purchase approvals
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate with warehouses and logistics to optimize domestic and international shipping
  • Provide recommendations to lower costs
  • Review invoices and oversee delivery compliance for products and services
  • Maintain documentation for audit and control procedures; keep purchasing records accurate and up to date
  • Help establish and maintain a purchasing budget
  • Track procurement KPIs and provide regular reporting

Technical skills & experience

  • Bilingual — English and Spanish required
  • Experience in procurement and purchasing
  • 3–5 years of experience in supply chain management
  • Telecommunications or construction industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders

Education
