Job Overview

We are hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician to support the Maintenance Manager with the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of two hotel properties in Fairfield.
This is a hands-on position for someone who can respond to maintenance requests, troubleshoot common hotel maintenance issues, complete preventive maintenance assignments, and help keep guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems in proper working condition.
Previous hotel maintenance experience is preferred. Must have basic computer and administrave skills. Experience working with Hilton or IHG-branded hotels is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with daily repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance, and property upkeep.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, employees, and hotel management.
  • Troubleshoot and complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, lighting, lock, door, furniture, and fixture repairs.
  • Complete maintenance work in guest rooms, public areas, offices, back-of-house areas, mechanical areas, and exterior spaces.
  • Perform painting, patching, caulking, minor carpentry, furniture repair, and general building repairs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and document completed work.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, and conditions requiring additional repair.
  • Assist with room preventive maintenance and brand-required maintenance programs.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance supplies, storage areas, and mechanical rooms.
  • Assist outside vendors and contractors when directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Coordinate with the front desk, housekeeping, and other departments to minimize disruption to guests.
  • Follow company safety procedures, hotel brand standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues when assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications

  • Previous hotel, apartment, commercial building, facilities, construction, or general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Hilton or IHG hotel maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine maintenance problems and determine when outside service is required.
  • Ability to work independently when the Maintenance Manager is not onsite.
  • Professional communication skills when interacting with guests, employees, vendors, and management.
  • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize emergency or guest-related repairs.
  • Basic written and electronic documentation skills.
Schedule Requirements

This is a full-time afternoon position.
Applicants must be available to work:
  • Afternoon and evening shifts
  • Every Saturday and Sunday
  • Holidays as required by hotel operations
  • Additional hours during emergencies or periods of high occupancy when needed
Weekend availability is mandatory and is not an alternating-weekend schedule. The employee will receive regular days off during the week.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, pull, and work in confined or elevated areas.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Compensation

The hourly pay range is $21.00–$25.00, depending on relevant experience, technical abilities, and hotel brand experience.
