What is an afternoon Apple Map driver?

An Afternoon Apple Map Driver is a contractor hired by Apple or third-party vendors to drive designated routes during the afternoon, collecting and updating mapping data for Apple Maps. These drivers use specially equipped vehicles with cameras and sensors to capture street-level imagery and gather location information. The data collected helps Apple improve map accuracy, update road details, and enhance features like navigation and 3D views. Typically, drivers follow specific instructions and routes provided by Apple, and work part-time or on a flexible schedule. This role requires a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and attention to detail.

Throughout your day, you’ll drive designated areas, often working independently, but you’ll stay connected with a remote support team for troubleshooting or updates. Route planning is usually handled by a centralized team, but you may need to adapt to real-time conditions such as traffic or road closures, so flexibility and attention to detail are important.
