Job Summary:
Abacus Service Corporation is seeking a talented Software Engineer to lead their Java development team at the Department of Family and Protective Services in Austin, TX. This role involves modernizing enterprise web applications and ensuring high standards of quality and performance while making a positive impact in the community.
Responsibilities:
• Define and develop low-level design documents
• Contribute to and follow software engineering best practices
• Collaborate with Business Analysis and Project Management
• Participate in design and development activities for existing and new components
• Perform full stack development including Database, Services, Web Applications, and Front-end development
• Write scalable and high available code by following design principles
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and test case automation
• Identify, investigate, and resolve production problems
Qualifications:
Required:
• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Front End/UI development on the J2EE platform
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, XML, JavaScript Framework, Bootstrap, Angular, JSP
• 5+ years of experience in IBM WebSphere and WebLogic Application Server deployments
• 4+ years of experience with user journey mapping, storyboarding, and application usability design
Preferred:
• Experience in SOAP or RESTful Web Services
• Working knowledge of code Version Control using SVN, Git, or Maven
• Experience with Test Automation tools like Selenium, LoadRunner
• Knowledge of Responsive/Mobile Development and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0
