HOURS: Part-time, 20 hours per week
SALARY: $12.95 per hour
BENEFITS: Partial benefits including prorated sick leave, annual leave and holiday pay.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrated experience with teaching and supervising children (grades K-5) in a recreational
or educational setting
2. At least 19 years of age
3. High school diploma required
4. Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Site Director, Assistant Site Director, Community Schools Program Supervisor and Director
SUPERVISES: All students as assigned and volunteers
PERSONNEL:
1. Documentation of TB test results signed by a medical practitioner licensed in NC by first day of employment
2. Documentation of a Medical Report within thirty days of first day of employment
3. Documentation of CPR, SFA and Playground Safety certification
4. Completed required number of CEU credits by designated date
PFERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Program Responsibilities
a. Works with a specific group of children as assigned by the Site Director; teaches and supervises children in all program activities and on field trips
b. Plans and organizes a variety of enriching and age appropriate program activities in accordance with North Carolina Child Care Licensing Requirements
c. Provides an environment that insures the safety and well being of all students
e. Participates in weekly site staff meetings
f. Follows PBIS (Positive Intervention Behavior Support) guidelines for managing student behavior
g. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors
2. Staff Development
a. Completes of six hours required staff orientation within first two weeks of employment
b. Completes additional three hours required staff orientation completed within first six weeks of employment
c. Completes OSAHA, Diabetes, Allergy and Managing Behavior I&II training modules within first
month of employment
d. Completes Basic School-Age Care (BSAC) training within sixty days of employment
e. Completes certification in CPR, SFA or Playground Safety as required
f. Completes required number of staff development hours/CEU credits by the designated date
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: After-School Program (regular school year): Ten months, part-time; hours determined by program needs. Optional summer employment: Six or seven weeks, part time.
EVALUATION:Performance evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel
