Job description

Optometrist – Full Time (CRITICAL FILL)

Location: Blackfeet Service Unit, Browning, MT
Address: 760 Hospital Cir, Browning, MT 59417
Start Date: ASAP (after credentialing ~60 days)
POP End Date: 01/18/2027
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $133 – $135/hr
Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,320 – $5,400/week (40 hrs/week)


Job Summary

Provide comprehensive optometry services including eye exams, diagnosis, treatment of visual disorders, and management of ocular diseases in a federally operated healthcare setting.


Requirements
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD degree) from an accredited school

  • Active Optometry license (any U.S. state; eligibility for reciprocity may be required)

  • Board certification/eligibility preferred

  • Minimum 2+ years clinical optometry experience preferred

  • Experience in primary care optometry, ocular disease management, and routine eye exams

  • Ability to work full-time clinical schedule in a hospital/clinic setting


Credentials
  • OD (Doctor of Optometry) – Required

  • State Optometry License – Required (active or eligible)

  • DEA registration – May be required depending on prescribing scope

  • BLS – Preferred (facility dependent)


Setting / Work Environment
  • Outpatient clinic / hospital-based eye care

  • Federal healthcare system (IHS – Blackfeet Service Unit)
