Job Title: Substation Superintendent

Our client, a leader in utility-scale projects, seeks an experienced and driven Substation Superintendent to oversee critical substation construction activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects, lead diverse teams, and ensure the safe, timely, and quality delivery of infrastructure solutions.

Position Overview:
The Substation Superintendent will manage field operations for high-voltage substation construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality specifications, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise substation construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Oversee all aspects of substation construction, including site preparation, installation of equipment, grounding, wiring, and commissioning.
  • Monitor and enforce safety standards, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project specifications, schedules, and budgets are met.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules, adjusting for changes and managing resources effectively.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to industry standards, specifications, and design requirements.
  • Manage material procurement, inventory, and site logistics to prevent delays.
  • Prepare daily reports, track progress, and communicate updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to equipment installation and construction activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Substation Superintendent or similar leadership role in substation construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of high-voltage substations, electrical systems, and utility infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of industry safety practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and project management tools is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in electrical construction is preferred.
  • OSHA certification and other relevant safety training are highly desirable.
