Job description

Job Summary:
Omega Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Linux Administrator for a short-term project. The role involves addressing various Linux infrastructure challenges, including system upgrades, reconfigurations, and ensuring system stability.
Responsibilities:
• Upgrades and patches
• Re-configurations
• Building new systems and configuring file systems
• Validation of the systems after configuration changes
• Addressing Linux kernel upgrade issues
• Rebuilding servers and properly configuring applications after upgrades
• Upgrading Debian machines and cleaning up old libraries
• Managing individual library upgrades
Qualifications:
Required:
• Over 5 years of strong experience as a Linux Administrator.
• Knowledge and experience with various flavors of Linux mainly Oracle Linux, CentOS, Debian and Redhat.
• Knowledge on VMWare virtual environment.
• Strong technical background in storage, disk management, Logical volume management (LVM).
• Experience with installation and configuration services like NFS, DNS, BIND, OpenSSL and certificate authority, splunk, rubygems, icu, rapid7 etc.
• Management of user accounts, System security, change management and performance tuning.
• Experience and proficiency with installation of patches, hardware software and firmware updates.
• Experience in troubleshooting I/O Errors, Disk errors, package dependency issues.
• Experience with package management.
• Flexibility to work off-hours and weekends as most the maintenance activities happened outside business hours.
