Job description

Employment type and schedule: Contract, remote (must be located in and authorized to work in the United States). Location: Remote within the United States, excluding California. Flexible teaching opportunities Monday–Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Session length: Typically 30–40 minutes per small-group lesson (up to four students). Compensation: Up to $24/hour.

Organization overview: Air Education Inc. (Air Reading) delivers evidence-based, small-group online reading instruction to elementary students across the United States. Grounded in the Science of Reading, the program partners with schools to accelerate student literacy development and provides tutors with a structured curriculum, coaching, and professional development. Independent evaluations demonstrate measurable student gains; the program holds an ESSA Tier 1 (Strong Evidence) rating.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured, engaging small-group reading lessons via Zoom for groups of up to four elementary students, following provided step-by-step curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Maintain instructional fidelity to structured literacy and Science of Reading approaches.
  • Administer routine assessments, record results, monitor student progress, and document outcomes using established tools and reporting procedures.
  • Provide timely, actionable feedback to students and school partners to support student growth.
