Job description

Company Description: The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is a state agency responsible for supporting Floridaโ€™s agricultural industry, protecting consumers, and promoting public health and safety. The department oversees a wide range of programs including food safety, nutrition initiatives, and agricultural policy. FDACS's Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness partners with community organizations and schools as program sponsors of USDA's School Meals and Summer Food Service Programs aimed to provide access to nutritious meals to children and reduce food insecurity related issues. Team members contribute to these programs that positively impact children across the state.

The position location is negotiable for regional offices in Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami Lakes or the Tallahassee headquarters' office. 

This is a full-time, Nutrition Program Specialist IV position for a Registered Dietitian working on a team of other RDs with the USDA's Child Nutrition Programs - School Lunch, School Breakfast, Afterschool Snacks and Summer Programs - in the Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness (FNW) in the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. FNW is located at The Holland Building, 600 South Calhoun St. Suite 120, Tallahassee, FL 32399.

Preference for this full-time Nutrition Specialist position is experience in school foodservice settings and/or USDA Child Nutrition Programs but is not required. Will provide comprehensive training for the selected candidate.
