This role is perfect for dancers, cheerleaders, or performers who love working with children and want to inspire them through movement, teamwork, and positivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine Instruction: Teach age-appropriate cheerdance routines, incorporating sharp cheer motions, basic dance steps, and rhythmic movements.
  • Skill Building: Instruct students on foundational cheer techniques, including jumps, vocal projection (chants/cheers), and synchronization.
  • Performance Prep: Help students memorize short routines for "showcase days" where they can perform for their peers and families.
  • Safety amp; Form: Ensure all movements are performed safely, focusing on proper stretching and technique to prevent injury.
  • Positive Environment: Foster a supportive atmosphere where every student feels included and empowered to express themselves.
  • Logistics amp; Safety: Manage student check-in/out and ensure the designated practice space (gym, stage, or cafeteria) is left clean and organized.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children (coaching, teaching, or camp leadership preferred).
  • Background in Cheerleading, Dance, Poms, or Gymnastics is required.
  • High energy, reliability, and the ability to command a room of 15–20 children.
  • Reliable transportation to various school sites in Cook County (Chicago and suburbs).
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check (meeting Illinois and local district vendor standards).

Schedule amp; Pay

  • Hours: After-school hours, typically 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM (varies by school).
  • Commitment: 1–3 days per week (flexible based on your schedule).
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour based on experience and background.

Benefits

  • Flexible, part-time schedule perfect for students, performers, or freelance instructors.
  • Paid training and access to BBA's cheerdance curriculum.
  • All necessary equipment (music, pompoms) and BBA apparel provided.
  • Professional growth opportunities as we grow our spirit programs in the Chicago area.

Why Join Ben Bellucci Academy?

At BBA, we believe that cheerdance is about more than just a routine—it's about finding your voice and building self-esteem. Our instructors are the heart of our program, providing a safe and joyful space for students to be active, creative, and loud!
