Assistant Store Manager

Once Upon a Child is seeking an experienced and energetic Assistant Store Manager to join our team in Canton, OH! This Once Upon a Child location is locally owned by a Canton, Ohio native. Once Upon A Child is part of a nationwide network of retail stores that buys and sells gently used kids' clothing, shoes, toys and baby gear.

The ideal candidate will have:

2. Must have strong leadership, organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving, and time management skills
3. Must have 2+ years customer service experience
4. Must have at least 1-year prior supervisory experience
5. High school diploma (some college preferred)
6. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and the Internet
7. Ability to life up to 40 lbs. without assistance

Responsibilities and Duties:

2. Understand, meet and exceed sales goals.
3. Maintain all controllable expenses.
4. Recruit and assist in training new hires for all areas of the store. Set productivity/performance standards and evaluate staff performance.
5. Engage the staff on a daily basis and assisting in running periodic team meetings.
6. Encourage each individual staff member to contribute their best effort.
7. Train staff on all TMG Non-Negotiable Customer Service Standards. Ensure that all standards are met and adhered to.
8. Maintain appropriate security procedures including: computer cash register open/close procedures, daily bank deposit, daily audit reconciliation (both register, reviewing daily buy summary).
9. Perform daily/weekly/monthly bookkeeping tasks.
10. Assist in executing TMG clearance strategy, daily floor and merchandise maintenance, and assist in inventory counts as needed.
11. Maintain and provide a store that is appealing to family shoppers.
12. Maintain/monitor security equipment, and other loss prevention programs.
13. Must be available for problem solving even if not at work.
14. All other duties as assigned
