The Digital Print Shop Technician is a versatile, hands-on production professional responsible for managing projects from initial artwork review through final production and finishing. This role combines technical expertise, customer service, quality control, and equipment operation to ensure accurate, high-quality print production. 

Working closely with customers, sales representatives, and internal teams, the technician prepares artwork for production, operates wide-format digital printing and cutting equipment, maintains production workflows, and troubleshoots equipment and file-related issues. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong attention to detail, and is committed to delivering exceptional printed products that meet customer expectations. 

Job Responsibilities
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital print production, wide-format printing, or a related field.  
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.  
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using RIP software; Onyx experience preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of:  
  • Print resolution and image quality standards 
  • Color theory, color management, and ICC profiles 
  • Digital print workflows and production processes 
  • Various print substrates and material applications 
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems.  
  • Experience operating wide-format digital print equipment and finishing systems.  
  • Experience with precision cutting tables such as Kongsberg or similar equipment.  
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.  
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.  
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams 
Essential Job Function
  • Review customer-supplied artwork and prepare files for production.  
  • Verify file integrity, image resolution, color accuracy, sizing, and print readiness.  
  • Process and manage files through Onyx RIP software or similar RIP platforms.  
  • Operate and monitor wide-format UV flatbed printing equipment to ensure quality and efficiency.  
  • Operate digital cutting systems and precision cutting tables, including Kongsberg or comparable equipment.  
  • Navigate and utilize Vanguard controller software and other production management systems.  
  • Perform color correction and color management using ICC profiles and industry-standard practices.  
  • Select appropriate print substrates, including paper, vinyl, plastic, rigid materials, and specialty media.  
  • Conduct quality control inspections throughout the production process.  
  • Collaborate with customers and sales teams to resolve artwork, production, and scheduling issues. 
  • Troubleshoot print, file, software, and equipment-related problems to minimize downtime.  
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance procedures.  
  • Maintain accurate production records and meet established production deadlines.  
  • Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards.  
  • Assist with inventory management and material organization as needed.
