Position: After School Program Assistant, Beyond the Bell
Department: Middle School
Available: September 2026
Detroit Country Day School is a private, independent, co-educational, non-denominational, preschool through grade 12, college preparatory school focused on a well-rounded liberal arts education. Position Summary
Detroit Country Day School is seeking Beyond the Bell Assistants for the Middle School to assist with supervision, coordination of activities, and care for children in an aftercare program. Ages of students range from 9-13 at the Middle School. This is a part-time, non-exempt position. The typical schedule is between 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday during the school year.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Oversee student arrival and dismissal in the Beyond the Bell program and manage the process of signing students in and out.
  • Supervise students doing homework and/or recreational activities
  • Facilitate a caring and safe environment for students
  • Communicate with parents and other staff about dismissal times
  • Collaborate with other Beyond the Bell staff members and work effectively as a part of the team
  • Ensure students adhere to the expectations set forth by the school
  • Maintain cleanliness of afterschool spaces
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
