Job description

Schedule: Regular Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Description:
  • Specialty: Neurology
  • Location: Petoskey, Michigan
  • Start Date: November 1, 2026
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Board Certification: Required Board Certified in Neurology only;
  • Board Eligible candidates are not accepted
  • Michigan License: Active Michigan medical license required.
  • DEA: Active DEA required
  • Local Candidates Only: Provider must be local; no flight arrangements available
  • Outpatient Clinic Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 1:00 PM 3:00 PM
  • These appointments are included within the regular 8-hour onsite day.
  • Onsite Coverage: When there are no outpatient appointments scheduled, or when the outpatient schedule does not occupy the full designated time, the provider is still expected to provide onsite hospital coverage.
  • Call Coverage: After-hours inpatient call coverage required.
  • Weekend Coverage: 24-hour weekend call, 8:00 AM 8:00 AM
  • Inpatient Call: 24/7 coverage, with call shifts beginning and ending at 8:00 AM.
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 6 8 patients per day.
Responsibilities:
  • The Neurologist will provide inpatient and outpatient neurological care, hospital coverage, and after-hours call coverage.
  • Evaluation and management of neurological patients
  • Inpatient and outpatient care as assigned
  • After-hours and weekend call coverage
  • EEG interpretation for both inpatient and outpatient cases as needed
  • Onsite hospital coverage when outpatient appointments are not scheduled
Required Skills:
  • Candidates must be comfortable performing or interpreting the following:
  • Radiologic Exam Interpretation
  • Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap)
  • EEG
  • Brain Death Examination
  • Evoked Potentials
Required Qualifications:
  • All requirements must be clearly documented at the time of name clear.
  • Board Certified in Neurology Required
  • Board Eligible candidates not accepted
  • Active Michigan medical license Required
  • Active DEA Required
  • BLS certification Required
  • ACLS certification Required
  • NIH Stroke Scale/tPA competency Preferred
  • Recent Self-Query NPDB report Required at presentation; should be pulled within the month
  • Must be a local provider; no flights
  • Provider availability and preferred shift type must be clearly stated
Rates:
  • Hourly: $300/hr on 1099
  • Night Call: $400/night
  • 24-Hour Call: $3,000/24 hr
  • Call-back: $375/hr
