Job description


Our Materiel Solutions team is seeking a motivated, mid-level systems Operations and Maintenance member to work with our development team and support the strategic initiatives of the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI) in Rome, NY, and with other customers across the DoD and IC.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional resource management and task prioritization by effectively balancing their time between multiple efforts. Qualified candidates will play a key role in supporting our Program Management Office (PMO). Our team is responsible for providing lifecycle engineering, logistical, and administrative/financial support to Government Program Management Office (PMO), as well as providing leadership to seamlessly usher an ongoing project from the development stage into sustainment. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify user needs and propose product innovations for AFRL's existing cross-domain solutions.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Oversee and manages the technical project(s) and serves as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, line management, and customers
  • Prepares project execution plan and identifies technical and business resources needed
  • Review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports
  • Assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team and customers
  • Collaborate with other engineers, product management, design, and customers to identify and solve challenging problems

Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Project management experience leading diverse teams focused on operations and maintenance of complex computer systems
  • Customer relation management experience; including but limited to developing creative solutions to highly complex problems involving internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven experience in identifying, assessing, prioritizing, validating and adjudicating capabilities to meet customer requirements
  • Demonstrated capability to prepare and deliver technical information presentations to customers
  • DoD 8570 compliant with a minimum of CompTIA Security + certification
