As of Jul 3, 2026, the average hourly pay for aesthetic rn new grad in Minnesota is $36.76, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $27.33 and $42.27 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How to get a job as an aesthetic nurse with no experience?

Aesthetic RNs with no experience can start by obtaining relevant certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and specialized training in cosmetic procedures. Gaining experience through internships, assisting experienced nurses, or working in dermatology or plastic surgery clinics can improve job prospects; a valid nursing license is required.

How to make $100,000 as a new grad nurse?

Aesthetic Rn new grads can increase earning potential by gaining specialized certifications, such as in cosmetic procedures or laser treatments, and working in high-demand clinics or private practices. Building experience, developing strong technical skills, and working flexible or overtime hours can also help reach higher income levels, with some nurses earning $100,000 or more annually through these strategies.

Can you be an aesthetic nurse as a new grad?

Aesthetic RNs who are new graduates can pursue entry-level positions in aesthetic nursing, but they typically need to obtain relevant certifications such as Botox or dermal filler training and gain experience in patient care. Many employers prefer candidates with some clinical experience and specialized training before performing cosmetic procedures. Starting in a clinical setting and obtaining aesthetic certifications can help new grads qualify for aesthetic nursing roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Aesthetic RN New Grad, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Aesthetic RN New Grad, you need a valid RN license, strong knowledge of anatomy, and a basic understanding of cosmetic procedures such as injectables and laser treatments. Familiarity with aesthetic tools (e.g., Botox, dermal fillers), electronic health record (EHR) systems, and completion of relevant certifications like Basic Life Support (BLS) is often required. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a compassionate bedside manner help build patient trust and ensure positive outcomes. These skills and qualities are important for delivering safe, effective treatments and fostering strong patient relationships in a client-focused environment.

What is the difference between Aesthetic Rn New Grad vs Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner?

AspectAesthetic Rn New GradAesthetic Nurse Practitioner
CredentialsRegistered Nurse license, no advanced degreeRegistered Nurse license + Master’s or Doctorate, Nurse Practitioner certification
Work EnvironmentClinics, med spas, cosmetic officesSame as RN, often with more autonomy and advanced procedures
Scope of PracticeAssisting with procedures, patient prep, post-carePerforming advanced aesthetic procedures, consultations, prescribing

While both roles work in aesthetic settings, Aesthetic Rn New Grad typically assists and supports procedures, whereas Aesthetic Nurse Practitioners have advanced training to perform procedures independently and provide comprehensive patient care.

What are some common challenges faced by new graduate RNs entering aesthetic nursing, and how can they overcome them?

New graduate RNs in aesthetic nursing often face challenges such as building patient trust, mastering specialized procedures, and navigating the unique pace of cosmetic clinics. Since many aesthetic treatments require precision and a keen eye for detail, it can take time to develop confidence and proficiency. To overcome these challenges, new grads should seek mentorship from experienced nurses, participate in hands-on training sessions, and stay current with the latest techniques and safety protocols. Open communication with colleagues and a commitment to continuous learning are key to thriving in this dynamic field.

What is an Aesthetic RN New Grad?

An Aesthetic RN New Grad is a newly licensed Registered Nurse who has chosen to begin their nursing career in the field of aesthetic medicine. These nurses work under supervision to provide cosmetic procedures such as injectables (like Botox and fillers), laser treatments, and skin care consultations. As new graduates, they often undergo specialized training to build competency in these services, focusing on patient safety, anatomy, and proper technique. Aesthetic RNs work in medical spas, dermatology clinics, and plastic surgery offices, helping patients achieve their cosmetic goals. Their role combines clinical nursing skills with an understanding of beauty and wellness.

What can an RN do in aesthetics?

An aesthetic RN performs non-invasive cosmetic procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser treatments. They typically work in medical spas or dermatology clinics, requiring certification in aesthetic procedures and knowledge of skin anatomy and safety protocols.
