Job description

Structural Assembly Technician
Mountain View, CA | 12-Month Contract | $32–$36/hr

About the Role

ATR International is seeking a Structural Assembly Technician to support our client's manufacturing operations in Mountain View, CA. The primary function of this role is hands-on manufacturing — assembling structural hardware by carefully following work instructions, accurately reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and adapting quickly to unexpected changes on the production floor. This is a great opportunity for a mechanically-inclined technician who thrives in a fast-paced, precision-driven manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

  • Follow group lead direction and shop orders to read and understand assigned manufacturing tasks
  • Document work performed in shop orders and verify completed work
  • Perform daily checkouts of manufacturing equipment
  • Support flight hardware moving operations by assisting test conductors and other operators
  • Report supply and equipment deficiencies to management
  • Maintain clean, organized work spaces
  • Keep personal training and certifications current
  • Occasionally assist other manufacturing teams in the production of spacecraft hardware
  • Be available to work some weekends and holidays

Minimum Requirements

  • Good driving record
  • High school diploma/equivalent and 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Previous experience safely operating a forklift, man-lift, and/or crane
  • Proficiency using mechanical tools — drills, hand tools, and basic measuring equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Comfortable using desktop computers
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and occasional shift changes to support production goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced mechanical skills for drilling, cutting, and shaping metals and composites
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
  • Experience leading small teams of technicians building complex structures or assemblies
  • Previous experience operating specialized equipment and/or machinery
