Location: Phoenix, AZ 85027
Employment Type: W2 Contract | 12 Months with Possibility of Extension
Pay Rate: $59.50 - $64.50/hour | Paid Weekly
Work Model: Hybrid | 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote
Shift: 1st Shift | Days


Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced Sr Advanced Program/Project Engineer to support complex aerospace and avionics programs at our client's Deer Valley location in Phoenix, Arizona.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished aerospace professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical leadership with program and project execution. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams, develop proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs), manage schedules and resources, monitor program performance, and serve as a key technical point of contact for customers and program leadership.

The ideal candidate brings at least 6 years of aerospace project engineering experience, strong technical and project management capabilities, and a proven ability to lead teams toward successful execution of complex aviation programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering teams in the development of proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and associated cost estimates.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customers and the Program Manager.
  • Define and implement project scope, objectives, technical deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and resource forecasts using Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to established timelines, budgets, and technical objectives.
  • Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics to evaluate and communicate project performance.
  • Lead a robust risk-management process to proactively identify, assess, mitigate, and communicate project risks.
  • Control scope growth through disciplined baseline and change-management processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering activities and drive accountability for project deliverables.
  • Communicate project status, technical issues, risks, priorities, and milestones to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, external customers, and certification agencies.
  • Support technical problem-solving and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen engineering and project management processes.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to aviation safety, technical excellence, customer satisfaction, quality, and successful program execution.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or another related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of project engineering or related experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, resource forecasting, and execution capabilities.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, scope, and technical deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively across functional boundaries and multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing project requirements.
  • Adaptability and flexibility when managing changing technical and program requirements.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience developing commercial or military avionics systems.
  • Experience with Military/Commercial TCAS, ADS-B Transponders, or similar avionics technologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Experience developing and maintaining schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to lead teams toward fast, practical solutions using Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Advanced degree in engineering or another related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of aviation safety and certification environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to deliver results in a cross-functional environment.
  • Passion for innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
  • Willingness to travel to customer and internal meetings, both domestically and internationally.
