Job description

✈️ Now Hiring: Senior Buyer | Aerospace Manufacturing

Sky Limit Systems is partnering with a growing aerospace manufacturer that’s focused on strengthening its supply chain and scaling operations — and we’re looking for a Senior Buyer who can take ownership of procurement strategy and supplier performance.

This role plays a key part in supporting production by ensuring materials, services, and components are sourced efficiently, competitively, and on time. It’s an opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys negotiating, and can lead supplier relationships while mentoring junior team members.

What You’ll Do

• Manage the procurement of raw materials, machined components, castings, outside processing, and MRO items in alignment with production and customer requirements

• Evaluate, qualify, and select suppliers based on capability, quality, pricing, delivery performance, and financial stability

• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms with vendors to ensure cost-effective and reliable supply

• Partner with Planning and Scheduling teams to align purchasing activities with forecast demand and production schedules

• Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and proactively resolve supply disruptions

• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to issue purchase orders, maintain supplier data, and track procurement activity

• Lead sourcing initiatives including onboarding new domestic and international suppliers that meet aerospace standards

• Support cost reduction efforts, supplier consolidation, and continuous improvement within the supply base

• Mentor and guide junior buyers, providing support in procurement processes, forecasting, and supplier management

What We’re Looking For

• 5–8+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace or defense

• Strong experience sourcing metals, machined parts, castings, forgings, and outside processing services

• Proven ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and supplier agreements with measurable results

• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and managing purchasing data and reporting

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints and understand technical requirements

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build supplier relationships

• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members within a purchasing organization

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Why This Opportunity

This is a high-impact role within a critical function of the business. You’ll have the opportunity to shape supplier strategy, influence cost and delivery performance, and play a key role in supporting production success. If you enjoy ownership, supplier engagement, and driving results in a fast-moving environment, this is a strong opportunity to grow your career.
