Job description

Northwest Aerospace Technologies (“NAT”), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue-Chip customers.
Position Summary:
Northwest Aerospace Technologies, a Safran company, the engineering manager is responsible for the engineering groups, disciplines, and deliverables and projects assigned to them by the Director of Engineering
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Engineering Manager is expected to be intimately involved in the day-to-day execution of engineering projects and deliverables. Managing the performance of the engineering groups/disciplines assigned to him/her. Specifically:
  • Maintaining appropriate NAT quality standards throughout the design, development, substantiation, installation and support phases of projects.
  • Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.
  • Analyze market demand and available resources.
  • Ensuring engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of Engineering procedures and work instructions.
  • Check technical accuracy of work.
  • Work with other engineering managers as a management team.
  • Communicate company vision and objectives of engineering department.
  • Maintain a skilled, productive, and motivated work force.
  • Support marketing by developing Technical Proposals, kits lists, NRE, etc.
  • Understand and promote all health, safety and environmental legal and regulatory requirements including company policies and standards. Lead by example, enforce and sustain a strong-minded safety culture and compliance driven practices in the work environment.

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Four-year technical degree.
  • Twelve or more years of broad technical experience, with at least seven of those years being in the aerospace industry desired.
  • Additional training in leadership, management, business administration, program management, and/or risk management preferred.
