General Application - Production Operator
Pay Rate: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on shift, department, and role assignment.
Shifts: 12-hour rotating schedule following a 2-2-3 pattern with alternating weekends.
Working Conditions: AeroFarms' facility includes both warm and humid areas (80 degrees) and cold areas (35 degrees). Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including facemasks in GMP/food production areas, is provided and required.

Position Overview & Responsivities:
The Production Operator will be responsible for (depending on which department you're assigned to):
  1. - Packing leafy greens into containers according to quality standards.
  2. - Sorting products for quality, referring poorer quality items to the Quality Team.
  3. - Adhering to all safety, food safety, and operational procedures in the seeding area.
  4. - Following instructions from the seeding coordinator and machine operator.
  5. - Preparing cloth inventory and cleaning seeding areas and equipment.
  6. - Operating scales and metal detectors for accurate weights.
  7. - Distinguishing between different packaging materials.
  8. - Tracking and recording quality losses.
  9. - Operating the automatic packaging line.
  10. - Cleaning and sanitizing the facility to meet quality and bacterial standards.
  11. - Frequently lifting/moving heavy hoses, equipment, and chemical containers (up to 75 lbs).
  12. - Assisting in transporting heavy equipment with forklifts or other devices.
  13. - Wearing specified protective gear.
  14. - Utilizing chemical cleaning solutions with protective gear.
  15. - Performing various tasks while standing, lifting, and bending for long periods.
  16. - Completing general and routine tasks under supervision.
  17. - Demonstrating basic knowledge of necessary tasks.
  18. - Performing other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Lead.

Qualifications:
  • - High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • - Experience in food production is helpful.
  • - Effective communication skills.
  • - Basic English proficiency (required for reading, writing, understanding, and speaking).
  • - Ability to work in a cold environment (34 degrees F) for extended periods.
  • - Weekend availability is a must.
  • - Ability to respect and maintain confidential information.
  • - Capability to work within a team environment.
  • - Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • - Ability to operate an electric forklift/pallet jack after training.
  • - Strong time management skills to meet shipping deadlines.
  • - Detail-oriented and organized.
  • - Basic math skills.
  • - Ability to use scales and computers.
