Job description

Hydraulix Corp is a hydraulic and electrical repair facility located in Columbus, OH, specializing in hydraulic, electrical, and cylinder repair for boom trucks, bucket trucks, auger trucks, tow trucks, aerial equipment, and heavy equipment.
We are growing and looking for an experienced Mechanic to join our team. Our business is built around providing customers with quick, dependable service and quality repairs, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in solving problems and getting equipment back to work.
What You'll Do
  • Diagnose and repair trucks and equipment coming into the shop
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Remove, repair, repack, and install hydraulic cylinders
  • Make and replace hydraulic hoses and lines
  • Diagnose and repair diesel and mechanical systems
  • Perform OSHA and DOT inspections
  • Develop repair estimates and timelines
  • Explain repairs and recommendations to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Maintain accurate repair records and paperwork
  • Work with the team to complete repairs efficiently and correctly
  • Help maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, experienced mechanic and problem solver who understands hydraulic and electrical systems and can diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts.
Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment, utility truck, boom truck, or similar repair
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and diagnostics
  • Experience with diesel engine repair
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take direction
  • Willingness to work paid overtime when needed
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:
  • Boom trucks
  • Bucket trucks
  • Auger trucks
  • Tow trucks
  • Aerial equipment
  • Heavy equipment
  • Mobile hydraulic equipment
  • Hydraulic cylinder repair/repacking
  • Hydraulic hose fabrication
  • PTO and hydraulic systems
