Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced Architect for our Carolinas group, reporting to the Charleston, SC team, to support advanced manufacturing and federal project types. This role provides architectural guidance, design development, and production support across a range of project delivery methods, working closely with senior staff and project teams from concept through construction administration. This role can be worked on a hybrid basis from any of our East Coast offices.

Our Carolinas B+P teams focus on providing design services in the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics market, including logistics centers and industrial facilities, while also supporting a wide range of project types across the federal and private sectors.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for initiating and developing design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects, in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project's discipline leaders.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing architectural guidance, calculations, specifications, analysis, studies, and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project
  • May manage various size groups of architects, designers, and/or specialists
  • May work on modest size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades
  • Design and production work, including architectural detailing through construction documents, using Revit
  • Perform construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
  • Perform field verification and travel to project sites as needed (less than 10%)
  • Establish and implement standards, processes, procedures, and workflows
  • Perform QA/QC reviews when assigned
  • Independently determine and develop approach to solutions under general direction
  • Coordinate design activities with other engineering disciplines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree from a NAAB accredited program plus six (6) years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience with design solution development, building systems and detailing, applicable codes and life safety requirements, differing building types and project delivery methods, and programming and planning methods
  • Architectural registration (RA)
  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be a United States Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience on federal projects with knowledge of the UFC and UFGS
  • RA License in South Carolina
  • LEED credentials
  • NCARB certification
  • Master of Architecture
  • Eligibility for a U.S. Security clearance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks accurately, effectively, and confidently
