Accounting Manager – San Rafael, CA

Elite Sourcing is working with a well-established San Rafael CPA firm with more than 35 years of experience providing accounting, tax, advisory, and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, families, privately held businesses, and other clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the firm's Financial Oversight team.

About the Role:
  • Lead and manage the Financial Oversight team and its day-to-day workflow
  • Oversee associates responsible for monthly accounting and financial reporting for assigned clients
  • Assign and monitor recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual client responsibilities
  • Review month-end financial statements, account reconciliations, cash-flow reports, budgets, and other client deliverables
  • Review team members' work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Coach, mentor, and develop accounting staff while providing technical guidance and best practices
  • Manage multiple client engagements while monitoring deadlines, time entries, engagement budgets, and client billing
  • Identify accounting issues, process improvements, and opportunities to provide additional advisory services
  • Help develop efficient and scalable accounting processes and maintain strong quality control standards
  • Coordinate closely with the firm's tax professionals to support tax planning and compliance
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to associates as client questions and issues arise
  • Conduct introductory calls with prospective clients and evaluate their accounting and advisory needs
  • Determine appropriate scopes of service, prepare fee proposals, and oversee new-client onboarding
  • Support business-development initiatives and identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Previous experience supervising, reviewing, or managing accounting staff
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Experience with budgeting, cash-flow reporting, and financial analysis Pay/Benefits:
    • Pay: $120K-$140K plus Annual Bonus
