Lead Android Developer
Job Description
  • Typically requires a completed technical degree and 8+ years of relevant, progressive experience
  • Stays up to date with latest Play Store requirements and latest Android features
  • Proven experience of full lifecycle support of Android applications, from development to publishing and support
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
  • Experience with Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose
  • Experience writing multi-threaded and networked apps
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Able to operate with openness and efficiency with one or more SDLC methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Agile)
  • Actively seeks feedback and guidance to improve technical skills (e.g., through submitting work for code review)
  • Works with existing data models and schemas and suggests changes and improvements where necessary
  • Debugs and fixes your own software with minimal assistance
  • Practices automated testing and tests your work in an automated and repeatable way

Roles & Responsibilities
  • As a Lead will collaborate with customer internal teams to design, modify and develop applications for the financial services industry.
  • Requires specialized knowledge and expertise in their own job discipline and deep experience in integrating related disciplinary knowledge.
  • Leads disciplinary or cross-functional program of notable risk; uses sophisticated analytical thought to identify innovative solutions.
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Acts as advisor to management and key external stakeholders on broad-ranging projects.
  • Mentor and lead other developers enabling them to work independently
  • Lead development efforts, provide input into architectural and design decisions, provide realistic estimates.
  • Design and develop solutions working with other internal groups such as architecture, design team, dev ops and enterprise security to ensure alignment with enterprise technology direction and standards.
  • Contribute to code reviews and provide feedback
  • Lead discussions to drive tactical vs. strategic decisions, outlining trade-offs
