Job description

We're looking for a Lead Android Engineer who will join a dedicated mobile pod delivering Android features for a major financial-services client in a regulated, security-first environment. Pods are small and senior-anchored - you'll own the Android architecture within your pod, set the code-quality bar, and ship production increments on a compressed timeline. We work in an AI-accelerated delivery model (AI-assisted codegen, test generation, and review) and expect engineers who can amplify their output with modern tooling.

Perficient is always looking for the best and brightest talent and we need you! We're a quickly-growing, global digital consulting leader, and we're transforming the world's largest enterprises and biggest brands. You'll work with the latest technologies, expand your skills, and become a part of our global community of talented, diverse, and knowledgeable colleagues.

Perficient is the global AI and technology consulting firm disrupting the traditional consulting model. Powered by our 7,000+ advisors, engineers, and designers, Perficient implements AI-first solutions that break conventions and deliver outcomes that matter. Proudly serving clients that represent the world's most innovative brands, and in collaboration with our powerful technology partner ecosystem, we bring deep industry expertise and data-driven design to redefine how businesses run and succeed. Perficient is different. For real. Learn more at perficient.com.
  • 6+ years mobile development, 4+ years native Android in Kotlin
  • Deep Jetpack Compose experience and sound grasp of modern Android architecture (MVVM/MVI, Clean Architecture)
  • Strong coroutines/Flow concurrency skills
  • Jetpack libraries (Navigation, Room, WorkManager, DataStore), DI with Hilt/Dagger
  • API integration, offline/caching strategies, and secure data handling on device
  • JUnit/Espresso testing and CI/CD (Gradle, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar)
  • Google Play release experience and signing/versioning fluency
  • Self-directed; productive in a fast-ramp, standards-driven pod

Preferred:

  • Financial services, fintech, or other regulated-industry experience
  • Experience building real-time trading, brokerage, or streaming market-data apps
  • Exposure to in-app AI features (conversational AI, AI-driven insights or personalization)
  • Familiarity with security/compliance (SSO/OAuth, biometrics, Keystore, MDM)
  • Multi-device experience: tablets and Wear OS
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tooling
  • Design-system / component-library contribution
