Job description

Lead Editor WANTED
High creative standards. Strong judgment. Clear accountability.
Location: Los Angeles, CA — Hybrid
Salary: $85K–$105K USD per year + Comprehensive Benefits
-----
About TubeScience
At TubeScience, we create data-driven video ads for some of the largest advertisers on Facebook and Instagram across fashion, beauty, food, fitness, healthcare, financial services, and more. We move quickly, test constantly, and use performance data to understand what audiences respond to. Our model is simple: clients only pay us when our videos outperform what they are already running internally.
-----
The Role
As a Lead Editor, you'll be the creative anchor of your pod. You'll set the visual standard, guide editors toward stronger work, and help turn campaign strategy into high-performing creative. You'll still be close to the craft, especially on high-priority campaigns, but your impact will go beyond your own edits.
Your feedback will shape the quality of the team. Your judgment will influence how work gets made. And your leadership will help editors improve faster and make better creative decisions. You'll also work closely with Creative Directors on team performance, workflow improvements, and your own growth as a leader.
-----
What You'll Do
  • Raise the Creative Bar: Set quality standards, give feedback that's actionable and grounded in what drives results, and step into high-priority edits when needed.
  • Lead Your Pod: Evaluate editors, identify capability gaps, and own staffing decisions — building and developing the strongest possible team to drive post-production output.
  • Maximize Every Asset: Review footage, curate strong selects, maintain organized libraries, and find smart ways to repurpose content.
  • Bridge Production and Post: Partner closely with Production on footage quality — flagging issues early and delivering feedback that's actionable and consumer-minded.
  • Partner with Strategy: Share performance insights and strengthen knowledge-sharing between editorial and Strategy to keep creative decisions grounded in what's working.
  • Lead with a Business Mindset: Represent editorial in cross-functional conversations, balance creative ambition with production realities, and make the tough calls — on scope, timelines, or team assignments — when it's what the work needs.
  • Improve the Process: Streamline workflows, explore new tools and AI capabilities, and bring solutions to recurring challenges.
-----
Who You Are
  • Strong visual judgment and a clear understanding of what makes an edit work
  • Ability to give clear, actionable feedback that editors can apply quickly
  • Strong understanding of how creative decisions connect to performance
  • Ability to guide and develop editors, holding the team accountable while building a strong roster
  • Sound business judgment — able to see the bigger picture across creative and team needs, and act decisively in a fast-paced, high-output environment
  • Willingness to stay hands-on when the work needs senior-level attention
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of professional video editing experience
  • 3+ year in a managerial or leadership role
  • Expert-level proficiency in Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong knowledge of After Effects and motion graphics
  • Experience in performance marketing, a creative agency, or an in-house creative team
-----
Why TubeScience
  • Your work goes live fast — no slow cycles
  • Learn performance marketing at scale
  • Work with a global, high-performing creative team
  • -----
