An advertising director works to oversee projects or advertising campaigns for an ad department or agency. As an advertising director, your exact responsibilities depend on the type of projects on which you work as well as the size of the agency. Your duties may include negotiating each client contract, hiring creative or sales staff, or working on a budget for projects or the advertising department as a whole. You may also function as a creative director who is in charge of the creative aspects of making the advertisements. An advertising art director, meanwhile, focuses on media acquisition for ad campaigns.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an advertising director?

To thrive as an Advertising Director, you need expertise in marketing strategy, campaign management, and market analysis, usually supported by a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
