Job Description: After School Adventures Site Manager

Terms of Employment: School Year Calendar

Salary/Pay Grade: Clerical Pay Grade 5

Location/Campus: After School Program is provided at the 9 MISD Elementary Campuses

Typical Hours: 2:30pm - 6:30pm

Position Reports to: Director of Child Care Services

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience managing staff and/or previous leadership experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with school-age children in a child care setting
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage daily operations of the assigned after school program, including staff supervision and overall schedule of activities
  • Supervise and provide staff support in the implementation of after school curriculum (ie. lesson plans, activity schedules, character development, etc.)
  • Adhere to all procedures and expectations outlined in district and program handbooks
  • Monitor the health and safety of all children and staff
  • Ensure the program maintains the proper staff-to-child ratio as outlined in the program standards
  • Ensure maintenance and appropriate use of all building facilities, resources, supplies and equipment with care and pride; including organization, cleanliness and daily set-up/take-down of the program area
  • Actively support staff during discipline procedures. Ensure proper behavior management techniques are followed as outlined by program guidelines
  • Ensure all required staff and student records are maintained and up-to-date, and in compliance with all confidentiality measures
  • Ensure that all regular safety drills and procedures are practiced and recorded appropriately
  • Acknowledge all visitors and ensure a secure environment. Ensure pick-up and proper verification procedures are being followed
  • Provide excellent customer service support to children, parents, colleagues, campus staff, community members, and visitors. Communicate clearly and professionally with parents in a positive manner about their children and the program.
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with the campus administration and staff to identify community and student needs, provide consistency with campus climate and procedures
  • Actively recruit students throughout the year to maintain minimum enrollment
  • Ongoing site evaluation and staff coaching to ensure quality and optimal functioning of all program aspects
  • Attend and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives (ie. staff development, curriculum development, trainings, leadership meetings)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
