Job description

Pulmonary and Critical Care Provider

Location: AdventHealth Gordon โ€“ Calhoun, Georgia
Employer: Pioneer Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine
Schedule: Week-on/week-off hospital coverage with outpatient clinic presence

Position Overview

Pioneer is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pulmonary and Critical Care provider for a week-on/week-off role with 12-hour shifts at AdventHealth Gordon in Calhoun, Georgia. The provider will cover ICU, inpatient pulmonary, and outpatient clinic services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate, diagnose, and manage pulmonary and critical care patients across hospital and outpatient settings.
  2. Partner with clinical, administrative, and referral teams to support timely, coordinated patient care.
  3. Support initiatives that improve access, patient experience, documentation, compliance, and high quality outcomes.
  4. Contribute to a team culture grounded in communication, professionalism, compassion, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  1. MD or DO degree with board certification or board eligibility in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.
  2. Experience managing ICU patients and pulmonary consults required.
  3. Eligible for Georgia medical licensure and DEA registration, or ability to obtain prior to start date.
  4. Strong clinical judgment, documentation habits, and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  5. Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  6. Interest in program growth, quality improvement, and building strong referral relationships within Calhoun, Gordon County, and the surrounding Northwest Georgia market.
