Job Overview
Landscape East & West is seeking a Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician for our maintenance team based out of our Clackamas location. The Plant Health Care Technician performs all functions of the integrated pest management and herbicide programs, including applications, inspections, sampling, inventories, equipment maintenance, record keeping, and customer relations.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Safely & accurately mix, apply, and store fertilizers, pesticides and other chemicals for commercial and residential sites.
  • Diagnose turf and ornamental issues.
  • Collaborate with client representatives and on-site contacts.
  • Operate and calibrate spray equipment.
  • Assist with landscape maintenance as needed.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in the plant health care field.
  • Valid or ability to obtain an Oregon Commercial Pesticide Applicator license within first 30 days of employment.
  • Understands and demonstrates proficiency with products and techniques used to maintain and diagnose plant health
  • Experience operating mechanized truck mount spray apparatus
  • Understands and adheres to label directives on each product used, mixing & transportation procedures, drift control procedures, disposal techniques, and company policies regarding PPE and the storage and handling of pesticide products.
  • Experience with irrigation systems preferred
  • Ability to manage daily and weekly schedule and adjust for weather conditions
  • Tech Savvy and willing to learn new systems when needed
  • Possess a valid and insurable driver's license

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to walk through maintenance accounts, through all types of terrain.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel & dig
  • Able to drive company assigned vehicle.
