Job description

Role Summary
The Senior Project Controls Analyst is responsible for executing advanced project controls functions across large-scale projects within the organization. This role involves independently managing project schedule development, risk analysis, and reporting, ensuring project execution aligns with established guidelines. The position offers opportunities to lead project controls activities, mentor peers, and contribute to process improvements, supporting the successful delivery of complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to support project controls throughout the project lifecycle, including schedule development, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Lead schedule strategy development utilizing earned value management (EVM), critical path analysis, and scenario assessments.
  • Perform project schedule risk analysis and prepare related reports and documentation for regulatory filings such as FERC when applicable.
  • Maintain and update risk management plans, facilitate risk workshops, and maintain risk registers to evaluate project cost and schedule risks.
  • Review and analyze contracts and requests for services to ensure contractor compliance with project controls standards, including evaluation of estimates and deliverables.
  • Prepare and present project performance reports, variance analyses, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and timely delivery.
  • Provide training and guidance to project controls personnel to enhance team competency and effectiveness.
  • Support process improvements and contribute to enterprise initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency.
  • Assist in project close-out activities by capturing lessons learned and facilitating lessons reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the overall success of project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Science/Management, Business, or related field; a Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • 8-15 years of experience in project management, project controls, engineering, or construction; extensive experience with large and complex projects is highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise in project scheduling, risk management, and earned value management (EVM).
  • Advanced proficiency in project-related software systems and analytical tools, with the ability to train others.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring junior staff and leading project controls efforts on large programs.
  • AACE Certification and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the project lifecycle and ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a focus on safety and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments, with a proactive approach to process enhancement.
  • Must be available for occasional travel (less than 10%) and occasional overtime as required.

Publishing Pay Range: $32.00 - $42.00 hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
