Job description

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Tekkra Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Monroe, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on production professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys operating advanced packaging equipment while contributing to quality, efficiency, and safety goals.
The Tekkra Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated shrink-wrap and bundling equipment used in the packaging process. This role ensures finished products are properly wrapped, inspected, and prepared for shipment while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.
Reporting to the Packline Supervisor, you will work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and shipping teams to ensure packaging operations run efficiently and downtime is minimized. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact quality, customer satisfaction, and overall manufacturing performance.
This position is based in our Monroe, Michigan facility and is an on-site position.
What You’ll Do
Machine Operations
  • Set up, operate, and monitor Tekkra shrink – wrap and bundling equipment to meet production requirements
  • Load shrink – wrap film and packaging materials into equipment as required
  • Perform machine start – up, changeovers, adjustments, and shutdown procedures
  • Monitor machine performance and packaging quality throughout production runs
  • Maintain production flow by identifying and addressing minor equipment issues
  • Communicate equipment concerns to supervisor and maintenance personnel when repairs are required
  • Complete required production documentation and operational records
Quality, Safety amp; Continuous Improvement
  • Inspect wrapped and bundled products to ensure they meet company quality standards
  • Remove and report defective or damaged materials and products
  • Support production schedules by maintaining equipment readiness and minimizing downtime
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support workplace safety programs and report hazards or incidents immediately
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 - 3 years of manufacturing, production, and machine operation experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem – solving skills
Work Environment
This position operates within a manufacturing environment and is regularly exposed to moving mechanical equipment, airborne particles, vibration, and elevated temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when working in production areas.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout entirety of shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely work around automated equipment, conveyors, and packaging machinery
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
