Position Information
Job Title Grounds Maintenance - Pool - Harrison County Campus Job Description
The Grounds Maintenance will provide lawn maintenance of the College and ensure a professional appearance of the grounds is maintained at all times. The position reports to Grounds Supervisor.
Job Duties
1. Work under the direction of the grounds supervisor and perform all duties as assigned.
2. Perform all duties assigned in a timely manner.
3. Work with all other Maintenance personnel as assigned.
4. Must maintain a valid MS Driver's License at all times while employed.
5. Responsible for daily upkeep of the grounds including weed removal, trimming of trees, hedges, bushes, mulching and trash/debris removal/disposal.
6. Maintain adequate inventory of lawn supplies, and ensure regular maintenance of grounds equipment.
7. Report any safety related issues, unusual or extraordinary circumstances involving the college grounds or students.
8. Maintain a present professional employee appearance and attitude at all times.
9. Provide a courteous and timely response to request for assistance.
10. Adhere to all College policies and procedures.
11. Assist with grounds maintenance at other campuses/locations of College as needed.
12. Flexible work schedule and location may be required.
13. This position requires to lift, stand/walk, twist, push and pull for 67-100% of the time.
14. This position requires routinely lift loads of 20 to 50 pounds.
15. This positions requires to work over head, with and without ladders, for an extended period of time in an outdoor environment.
16. Improve skill level and performance through employee development.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Mandatory Qualifications
(M1) High School Diploma or High School Equivalency. (M2) Demonstrated competency in the use of lawn maintenance equipment (i.e. lawn mowers, weeds eaters and trimmers). (M3) Must be able to lift, stand/walk, twist, push and pull for 67-100% of the time. (M4) Must be able to routinely lift loads of 20 to 50 pounds. (M5) Active and valid driver's license required. (M6) Driver's licenses must remain in good standing at all times while employed. (M7) Ability to work over head, with and without ladders, for an extended period for time in an outdoor environment.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Prior experience in the landscape maintenance arena. (D2) Prior experience working in an outdoor environment.
