Job description

UTRS Advanced Manufacturing (UTRS AM) is currently seeking a Manufacturing Production Planner to join our team! At UTRS AM, we enjoy the benefits of working in a collaborative environment of close-knit team members. As a company, we provide a wide range of leading-edge engineering, management, and digital services to the public and private sectors. We are looking for someone that will support our mission to consistently deliver creative, high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget.
This person is responsible for developing production schedules to meet customer demands and create routers for complex machined parts. This position is located at our UTRS Advanced Manufacturing division in Robbinsville, NJ in our clean, air-conditioned, well-equipped, modern shop. At this location, we specialize in short-run manufacturing of custom machinery and machine components.
What will you be doing?
This position will be a key member of the UTRS Advanced Manufacturing (UTRS AM) team. Key elements of the role are as follows:
  • Develop detailed process steps (routers) based on customer purchase orders and specifications
  • Issue requisitions for raw material and commercial items as required per customer purchase orders and specifications
  • Coordinate scheduling activities to optimize workflow, efficiency, and on-time delivery
  • Track work-in-process (WIP)
  • Maintain strong business relationships with customers, vendors and colleagues
  • Utilize ERP software to maintain accurate data on material requirements and production status. (Global Shop, E2, Acumatica...)
  • Support manufacturing personnel

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?
This position will require the following skillsets and experience:
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, or operations within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Must have good mechanical skills and experience.
  • Engineering experience a plus
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role or machine shop.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
  • High standard of quality and efficiency
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Any milling/turning MFG experience would be beneficial.
  • Solid knowledge of shop mathematics
  • Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly.
  • Basic PC knowledge (MS Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Must be able to work in a physical capacity, lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma required; college degree not required but beneficial
