Job description

PURPOSE
The Pricing Analyst is a key member of the core pricing team. The Truckload (TL) Pricing Analyst supports the growth of new and existing truckload business through statistics and data. The TL Pricing Analyst assists our sales team by processing requests for quotes by analyzing truckload market trends and making recommendations to facilitate optimal pricing. The TL Pricing Analysts must have a keen awareness of economic factors that can influence the industry, as well as an eye for identifying opportunities to optimize profitability through price strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
   Consult with account managers and sales on Truckload (TL) pricing related inquiries
   Prepare data and execute requested analysis for TL bids
   Set expectations with sales/account management on bid process
   Research carrier rules and guidelines
   Provide support to both sales and internal departments 
   Collaborate with Sales teams and TL Operations teams to identify and resolve both cost and rate issues
   Use forecasting and strategic planning to ensure accurate pricing
   Provide pricing guidance on spot truckload opportunities
   Train when necessary for those looking to expand pricing skills 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
   Experience with Flatbed and/or Reefer markets is a plus 
   Excellent verbal and written communication skills including attention to detail regarding punctuation and spelling
   Intermediate-Advanced Excel knowledge and analytical skills
   Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are required
   Organized, detail oriented, possess a sense of urgency, and can be flexible while working in a fast-paced environment
   Must be able to multi task, learn quickly, and adapt to change easily
   Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner
   Must be able to work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
   High school diploma or GED
   Bachelor’s degree preferred
   In lieu of degree, combination of education and years of experience will be considered and preferred
   2+ years of industry experience preferred
