Sleep Medicine Advanced Practice Provider

Chicago, IL

Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Sleep Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) .

Department/division specs:

  • Practice alongside four Sleep Medicine physicians and four Sleep Medicine APPs

  • Cross collaboration with sleep ENT and Medical Weight Loss

  • American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) accredited center

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage patients with sleep disorders (e.g., obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome).

  • Adjust PAP therapy, dose titration, and other treatment plans.

  • Conduct outpatient follow-up visits and coordinate longitudinal care.

  • Collaborate with sleep physicians and multidisciplinary teams on complex cases.

  • Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment adherence, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Help manage patient cohort related to weight-loss-linked sleep management, follow-ups, and repeat sleep studies

  • 5-day, 8-hour shift schedule, days only, Monday-Friday

  • Reports to the Division Administrator

  • 100% outpatient Preferred Qualifications: · Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience is preferred. Position Requirements: Nurse Practitioner:

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process

  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position

  • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)

  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications Physician Assistant:

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process

  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program

  • Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certificationsThe Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care.
