Job description

A leading academic health system in Tennessee is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Gastroenterologist to join its growing Division of Gastroenterology as a full-time Gastroenterology Hospitalist. This is an outstanding opportunity to join an established team at a large tertiary care and Level I Trauma Center while enjoying an exceptional quality of life in one of the Southeast's most desirable cities.
Position/Program Highlights:
* Join an established and collegial team of 9 gastroenterologists.
* 100% inpatient Gastroenterology Hospitalist position.
* Seven days on / seven days off schedule.
* Responsibilities include inpatient consults and endoscopic procedures only.
* Supported by a second gastroenterologist and three GI APPs Monday through Friday.
* One GI APP provides weekend rounding support (half-day Saturday and Sunday).
* Average daily volume of 10-15 new consults and 4-8 procedures.
* EUS and ERCP skills are welcomed but not required.
* Advanced endoscopy coverage is provided by three dedicated advanced endoscopy colleagues.
* Dedicated inpatient endoscopy suite with full anesthesia support.
* Opportunity to teach medical students, family medicine residents, and internal medicine residents.
* Hospital leadership is committed to developing a Gastroenterology Fellowship Program in the future.
* Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology.
