Job description

Position Summary
Valbin Corporation is seeking an experienced High Threat Driving Instructor to support a potential contract at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ.
The High Threat Driving Instructor provides classroom, hands-on, and field instruction in support of the USAF Expeditionary Operations School (EOS) Fieldcraft Program, specializing in tactical and high-threat vehicle operations. The instructor delivers practical driving demonstrations, evaluates student performance, and teaches defensive and evasive driving techniques designed to prepare personnel to safely operate vehicles in hostile and austere environments. The High Threat Driving Instructor supports all aspects of course preparation, execution, and reconstitution while ensuring compliance with approved syllabi, Plans of Instruction (POIs), and USAF EOS safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom, practical, and field instruction on High Threat Driving techniques in accordance with approved syllabi and Plans of Instruction (POIs).
  • Conduct driving demonstrations and evaluate student performance to ensure proficiency in tactical vehicle operations and defensive driving techniques.
  • Instruct students on high-threat driving skills, including slalom driving, off-road vehicle operations, high-speed turns, alternate driver drills, evasive lane changes, reverse slalom, vehicle push-out/push-through techniques, and response to attack scenarios.
  • Prepare, inspect, and maintain training vehicles and instructional equipment to ensure safe and effective training operations.
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with established safety procedures and operational standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to students throughout classroom and practical driving exercises.
  • Assist with planning, coordination, setup, execution, and reconstitution of vehicle-based training events.
  • Evaluate student proficiency, document training results, and maintain instructional records in accordance with USAF EOS and Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations to enhance driving curriculum, instructional techniques, and operational readiness.
  • Comply with all USAF EOS policies, safety requirements, and contract performance standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a formal, recognized High Threat Driving Training course consisting of a minimum of **24 hours of instruction**.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in high-threat and tactical vehicle operations.
  • Ability to instruct and demonstrate advanced driving techniques, including:
    • Slalom driving
    • Off-road driving
    • High-speed turns
    • Alternate driver drills
    • Evasive lane changes
    • Reverse slalom
    • Vehicle push-out/push-through procedures (knowledge)
    • Attack scenario response
  • Experience conducting practical driver training, performance evaluations, and vehicle safety instruction.
  • Valid state driver's license with the ability to operate government-furnished vehicles.
  • Must meet all General Instructor qualifications identified in Section 2.6 of the PWS, including instructor certification, weapons qualification, First Aid/CPR/AED certification, Range Safety Officer qualification, and physical fitness requirements.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely operate and instruct from government vehicles in both day and night conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors in austere environments and under varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform physically demanding instructional activities while wearing required protective equipment.
  • Ability to safely support vehicle operations in tactical training environments involving uneven terrain, live-fire ranges, smoke, pyrotechnics, and other simulated combat conditions.
  • Ability to maintain all required instructor certifications and driving qualifications throughout the period of performance.
