We have an opportunity for a Territory Account Manager - Water Supply & Disposal to cover Northern California. You will own your territory and sell Pentair’s products & brands (Sta-Rite, Myers, Berkeley), primarily through authorized distributors, professional dealers, and installers, effectively utilizing marketing programs and promotional material, leveraging field resources, and distributor & end-user product trainings.

You will:

  • Manage and grow assigned Pentair business by identifying and nurturing new and existing key relationships with local communities of well drillers, plumbers, irrigation specialists, pump installers, residential and light commercial distributors, and other key channel partners.
  • Execute distribution and dealer sales strategies that increase top line revenue, augment Pentair solutions specification, and improve return on sales for the water supply, water disposal & agriculture / irrigation segments.
  • Build relationships with key distributor partners and influence sales of Pentair products and services by holding regular technical presentations, training seminars, and providing on-site support.
  • Develop and utilize a strong technical understanding of our products across the entire professional channel / portfolio to address customer needs and promote brand awareness and preference among our distributor partners.
  • Analyze customer specifications to determine proper product applications and/or accessories, provide expertise, and recommend solutions to application and performance problems.

Key Qualifications: 

  • Have earned a Bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) degree preferred.
  • I have 5+ years of professional experience in outside sales, managing a territory.
  • Experience working with indirect sales environments, especially with channel partners and/or distribution networks preferred. Advanced ability to work in a 2-step distribution model (especially with dealers, installers, and/or contractors) is a plus.
  • Experience working with products in the water, fluid handling, and/or plumbing industries a plus.
  • Ability to effectively utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software for lead generation and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate multiple and varied kinds of relationships, both internally and externally to the organization.

Travel:

  • 50-60% (including overnight) to dealers, distributors, customers, events, tradeshows, and other business-related meetings.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated TTC range will be from $79500 - $147600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus and/or sales incentives.
