Job description

Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Technician – Charlton, MA

$35.00 – $45.00/hr (Day Shift)
Also hiring PM Techs: $25.00 – $35.00/hr

Location: Charlton, MA
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Day Shift)

We’re looking for a hands-on diesel mechanic who knows how to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problems—not just swap parts. If you’ve got strong electrical skills, emissions experience, and can work through complex diesel issues, this is a solid long-term shop.

We also have an opening for a PM-level tech with 1–2 years of experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment
  • Work on engines including Cummins, Detroit, CAT, PACCAR, and similar
  • Advanced troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Repair and service emissions systems (DPF, DEF, SCR)
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMs)
  • Repair brakes, suspension, steering, A/C, tires, and air systems
  • Use OEM diagnostic software and scan tools
  • Complete accurate repair documentation

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years diesel technician / diesel mechanic experience (required for lead tech role)
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with modern diesel engines and aftertreatment systems
  • Own basic hand tools
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)
  • Able to work independently and figure problems out the right way

Compensation

  • $35.00 – $45.00/hr based on experience (Diesel Tech)
  • $25.00 – $35.00/hr (PM Tech / 1–2 years experience)

Benefits

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical, Vision, and Rx (no annual deductibles)
  • Delta Dental coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Company-provided uniforms
  • Referral bonuses

If you’re the kind of tech who likes solving real problems instead of just turning bolts, this is a shop where your skills will actually matter.

About Rockstar Mechanics

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

Rockstar Recruiting started in 2018 over a breakfast meeting between two recruiters, introduced through a mother-in-law. By the time the eggs arrived, it was clear they both shared a passion for recruiting, had similar beliefs as to how the job should be done, and most importantly, each had a problem that the other could solve. The company has continued to grow: millwrights and fire protection recruiting were added to with dedicated recruiters on each team. Through the company’s growth, the team has remained true to their goals of doing the job the right way.
