Job description

The Radiology Technologist at Advanced Diagnostics HealthCare is responsible for obtaining high quality radiographic images while practicing ALARA principles. He/she will be able to operate radiation producing equipment such as portable rad units, C-Arms, Computed Axial Tomography, R/F units and MRI to create diagnostic images. In addition, the Technologist will possess the ability to explain procedures, prepare and administer oral, rectal and/or IV contrast agents. Plus, the technologist will maintain patient records and practice radiation safety around patients and staff. The Technologist must adhere to ADH’s specific safety standards, isolation precautions and infection control policies and procedures. Our Technologists will assist the Director in establishing goals and develops strategic plans for all radiology operations. These functions are carried out in accordance with organizational policies & procedures, protocols, mission statement, performance improvement plan, annual competencies-skills checklist and the philosophy of ADH. Other job responsibilities may include all other duties assigned. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Maintains a technical & working knowledge of all Image producing equipment in their assigned area of responsibility • Performs all tasks associated with the proper execution of a diagnostic radiological examination in accordance with Advanced Diagnostics established protocols, Policy & Procedures, age specifics and competencies. • Performs visual preventative maintenance checks of all assigned equipment at the beginning and end of each shift. Records and reports maintenance requirements to appropriate staff. • Ensures MRI safety zones are enforced, all assigned work areas are properly maintained and stocked. • Helps maintain an effective Performance Improvement, Q/A & Q/C program in compliance with Joint Commission, Texas DSHS, IAC and/or ACR. • Reviews exposed radiographs ensuring proper positioning, techniques and identification are obtained perprotocol. Documents all exams/procedures in logbooks and enters charges in patient’s EMR. • Adheres to all Infection Control Protocols, Isolation Precautions and Disaster Plans. • Performs all other related duties as requested. • Complies with all Advance Diagnostics HealthCare’s policies and procedures. • Complies with Advanced Diagnostic, facilities and hospitals departmental Infection Control and Safety Policies & Procedures. • Participates in Advanced Diagnostic, facilities and hospitals departmental Performance Improvement program. • Attends appropriate in-services, departmental meeting and mandatory in-services. • Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines. • Meets the attendance, punctuality and dress code Policies & Procedures. • Exhibits Enthusiasm, Initiative, Dependability and Honesty • Communicates effectively with staff and clients • Demonstrates clinical competence according to licensure, Advanced Diagnostics, facilities and hospitals unit specific standards • Maintains professional practice standards. • Assumes personal responsibility for customer satisfaction and service. • Promotes Advanced Diagnostics Healthcare as “The Facility of Choice” in the community for patients, physicians, and employees • Promotes a positive, productive and compassionate environment throughout the different facilities and hospitals by treating patients, physicians, visitors, vendors, and co-workers with dignity and respect.Promotes an atmosphere of teamwork, emphasizing a group effort in which the contribution of every employee is essential. • Maintains a high standard of excellence by always striving to exceed the expectations of customers by putting courtesy, service and compassion first at all times. QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications) • Radiologic Technologist minimum 3 years’ experience with their ARRT registration and Texas MRT certification; AAS or BS in Radiologic Science is a plus. • Nuclear Medicine Technologist will possess a certificate from either the NMTCB or ARRT for health professional which specializes in Nuclear Medicine and offers radiation protection, physical sciences, use of radiopharmaceuticals, computer applications, imaging techniques and the biological effects of radiation exposure. • Computed Axial Tomography Technologist must possess an ARRT CT registration. • Magnetic Resonance Imaging technologist should possess an ARRT MRI registration
