Fall Internship
About the Role
Sony Electronics is seeking a highly motivated Account Management & Business Analytics Intern to support a team responsible for managing several of the company's largest retail partners. This role provides hands-on experience in financial analysis, promotional planning, sales operations, and business management within the consumer electronics industry.
The intern will play an important role in supporting account managers across multiple retail customers by managing promotional calendars, tracking marketing investments, reconciling claims, analyzing business performance, and developing actionable insights. This position offers significant exposure to real-world business decisions involving substantial promotional and sales investments.
This opportunity is well suited for candidates interested in sales, finance, business analytics, account management, and retail strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Promotional Planning & Calendar Management
  • Manage and maintain retailer promotional calendars across multiple customer accounts.
  • Track key promotional milestones, deadlines, and execution requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations teams to support promotional readiness.
  • Assist with promotion setup, funding allocation, and post-promotional analysis.

MDF & Claims Management
  • Support management of Market Development Funds (MDF) and promotional investments.
  • Assist in submitting, tracking, and reconciling retailer claims.
  • Validate supporting documentation and ensure compliance with program guidelines.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to promotional funding and claims activity.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reporting related to promotional spending.

Business & Financial Analysis
  • Develop recurring sales and business performance reports.
  • Analyze revenue, margin, inventory, and promotional performance metrics.
  • Assist with sales forecasting and demand planning activities.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Prepare executive-level summaries and business recommendations.

Market & Competitive Intelligence
  • Conduct competitive analysis on pricing, promotions, and product assortment.
  • Research category and consumer trends within the consumer electronics industry.
  • Monitor retailer performance and market share trends.
  • Support development of strategic recommendations based on business insights.

Sales Operations & Project Support
  • Assist with product launch planning and item setup tracking.
  • Support account managers with presentations, business reviews, and customer-facing materials.
  • Maintain reporting tools, trackers, and dashboards.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and operational initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $24 to $30. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
