Are you ready to take on a new challenge in your library career? WCPL is hiring an Adult Services Manager for its Southeast Regional Library. In this role you will work as part of a management team at the library, and more specifically, supervise a team of dedicated Librarians and Library Assistants who work in the Adult Services department. You will also collaborate with your peers and Librarians across the system to create and promote quality adult services and programs.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Supervise a team of Librarians and Library Assistants in providing excellent library service, dynamic programs and professional one-on-one assistance to adults
  • Work as part of the library's management team to oversee operations and act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Library Manager
  • Work with peers and Librarians across the system on programs and other system initiatives

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
  • Master's degree in Librarianship or related field: MLS, MLIS, MIS, ML from an ALA accredited program or NC program
  • One year of experience as a Librarian
  • Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
  • Three years of professional public library experience
  • One year of supervisory or management experience in a public library

  • Hiring Range: 69,421 - 93,722
  • Market Range: 69,421.00 - 118,020.00
