They implement behavior intervention plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support skill development, communication, and positive behaviors. This role often involves working in homes, clinics, or community settings to help clients meet their personal goals.

What does an Adult RBT do?

As an Adult RBT, your day typically involves working one-on-one with adult clients to implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You may be responsible for collecting and logging behavioral data, supporting clients with daily living skills, and reinforcing positive behavioral changes. Collaboration with other team members, such as therapists and caregivers, is common to ensure continuity of care and consistent application of strategies. Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with adult clients are key soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure effective support, progress tracking, and positive outcomes for adults receiving behavioral therapy.

What other jobs can an adult RBT get?

An adult RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) can transition into roles such as behavior technician, behavioral therapist, or autism support specialist, often working in clinics, schools, or home settings.
